European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP)
The European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) was founded as an organization in 1991, with the aim of strengthening and promoting psychotherapy in Europe. Currently EAP is the flagship of the psychotherapy profession and brings together 120,000 psychotherapists and 128 psychotherapy organizations from 41 European countries.
Based on the "Strasbourg Declaration of 1990 on Psychotherapy", the EAR represents and SUPPORTS THE MAINTENANCE OF VERY HIGH PROFESSIONAL CRITERIA for the free and independent practice of psychotherapists.
EAP is committed to maintaining a high level of competency and educational criteria in psychotherapy. Organizations and individuals who meet these criteria benefit from joining the EAP.
EAP seeks to influence European countries and the European Union in the development and regulation of psychotherapy standards as well as to provide the necessary information and documentation to political organizations and Government departments.
