The National Society for Psychotherapy of Greece (NOPG) was founded in June 1998 and represents in Europe the European Association for Psychotherapy - EAP.
The main purpose of the European Society of Psychotherapy is to establish and control the application of common training criteria and ethical rules in the practice of psychotherapy. It is a federation, which lists 128 organizations from 41 European countries, ie more than 120,000 psychotherapists of different methods and directions.
It has been recognized by the European Union as a non-governmental organization and has the position of EU advisor. in matters of psychotherapy. At the same time, it has developed, and in some countries have been implemented, criteria for the issuance of the European Certificate of Psychotherapy, thus facilitating the free movement of psychotherapists in European countries.
